Living Room Song - The Wonder Years
So fuck the world, and what it wants me to be
We don’t have trouble sleeping
No one no one’s gunna take that away from me
We don’t have trouble sleeping
We know we know who we wanna be
Holy fuck that was one of the best shows of my life. Zara and I got there after Into It. Over It. but I really just wanted to see The Story So Far, which was absolutely insane. First of all, the venue was WAY over capacity, and if you’ve been to the Annex Wreckroom you’d know how ridiculous that is. But fuck, they had an amazing setlist and literally almost every person in the room knew every word. Being their first time in Ontario, I don’t think they expected that many fans but their support in Toronto is unreal. I lost my mind during Mt. Diablo, and Swords and Pens, and Quicksand, and why am I listing songs, every fucking song ruled. They closed with High Regard and I was covered in goosebumps and almost light-headed from how stoked I was. They’re such a perfect live band. Oh and I meant to propose to Parker at some point in the night but I didn’t so that sucks. Next time. They were easily the highlight of the whole night.
I was on the back patio with my friends during Transit. I like them and everything but I don’t really listen to them that often and I just wanted to hang out for a bit. For Polar Bear Club Zara and I went near the front so we could dance around for KIllin’ It because it is our song. They played all the songs I wanted hear except His Devotee but they never play that, oh well. Still such a fun band to see live.
Zara doesn’t like The Wonder Years but I adore them so I went and hung out with my friend Jay so we could sing to each other and be stoked. I had goosebumps their whole set, I love their music but it’s a whole other thing when it’s in a small overpacked room and everyone’s got their hands up singing with you. Fuck, Came Out Swinging was going to make me cry it was so good, same with And Now I’m Nothing, and same with Melrose Diner, and same with Local Man Ruins Everything, and same with Don’t Let Me Cave In, and same with every other song that they played. So good.
I ended up buying Story So Far’s tank top, their only t-shirts were XL, and even my tank is a medium and I need to cut it up and sew it for it to fit me at all. And I got The Wonder Years’ Came Out Swinging tank top which I am wearing as I type this, as well as a bunch of stickers so my macbook’s gonna look cool.
I was stoked on how many of my friends came that I got to see, and I even saw a couple people that follow me on here, and others apparently saw me and messaged me about it - say hi next time weirdos.
Fuck, such a good fucking show.
msg me if youre going and come give me kisses at da show tomorrroww~~
